Within the scope of the congress, it is aimed that the organization will not only be a competition but also add value to the participants due to the disruption of education and training programs especially during the pandemic period.
Lessons have been added in order to advance the competitions at a more qualified level and to make each time period reserved for the congress by all researchers more productive. In the congress process, which has a different structure with this aspect, the participants are required to spend an active learning period.
The influence of the consultants is more dominant, especially in the congress participation of undergraduate and graduate participants, since their proficiency in econometric studies is weak. At this point, there are scoring differences between the papers prepared under the supervision of the advisor and the studies without the support of the advisor, but this is not reflected in the qualifications of the participants who have the paper. Therefore, the congress management plans to carry out this process with courses in order to support the academic development of all participants independently from the support of a direct advisor, by focusing on the relevant problem.
It is desired that the participants can compete on equal terms with both econometrics-based trainings and modules prepared for introduction to coding and to see this process as a development period. Even though the best papers will be rewarded at the end of the congress, a structure has been developed where there is no loser and all participants will earn more than they spend.
In this context, training will be given primarily on LaTeX for the preparation of papers at the congress, and it is requested that young researchers gain a skill already for international publications. As a result of the related course being coding-based, it has been seen that there is a serious basis for the software and coding developments of the congress participants who have received training before.
Since it is the most preferred level in econometric studies and is more accepted for undergraduate level, trainings on time series analysis will be given. However, there may be different levels at the undergraduate level and it is planned that this course will be based on statistics, and that it will be carried out with analysis later, as it is a master’s degree in a generation that has gone through a pandemic period.
As the last lesson of the congress, panel data analysis will be done. In terms of its scope and degree of difficulty, the course preferred mostly in the graduate period; applications during the congress also require a certain qualification. It is thought that after providing the relevant competence, the participants will overcome a critical threshold and develop an important academic achievement.
In all these processes, first of all, LaTeX training will be given to all participants and a time series analysis course will be carried out simultaneously in this process. Here, the congress will not provide any mediation for the supply of econometric software and the participants will have to supply the programs themselves. However, as a different application, it is necessary to successfully complete the time series analysis course in order to show that you have a certain ability to enter the panel data analysis course. Relevant participants will ensure that successful candidates participate in the panel data analysis course after a short evaluation exam. Candidates who fail this exam will complete the process with a LaTeX and time series analysis course.
Attendance is not compulsory for congress courses that will start after the abstract paper process. However, all participating candidates are obliged to convert their abstracts into full text. In addition to the fact that the congress participation is free of charge, the participants are expected to belong to their researcher identities and to act in an ethical framework.
